Here we see the whole Repetition suite. I designed and printed the show posters and handbills in addition to pulling print-duty for the custom sticker set and letterpress prints.

Poster is a two-color silkscreen with custom gradient fade and utilizes original film photography. Handbills and sticker set are both hand screen printed while the envelopes and since edition were made on the C&P letterpress.

Each set was hand screen printed and features a very subtle second color in the from of a translucent magenta to cyan background fade.

One of two custom interior signs made for Mills Record Co. Two-color screen print on birch plywood. Sign was printed in tiles, for example the red layer is three separate prints. Each trans blue Mills logo was printed one at a time.

Thank-You logo designed for the back page of the sales pamphlet. Letterpress style imagery overplayed on a deep wood background.

Branding + Design

Label artwork created digitally, commercially produced on clear label stock with special adhesive backing. Artwork plays off the original branding, modern design with classic letterpress touches. Labels are mostly clear so the viewers eye is drawn first to the flavorful colors of the juice itself.

Concept + Design

The largest physical branded object for Prairie Cold Press. Design reflects NYC style over-advertising. We see continuation of letterpress / classic sign painters design elements played out white on chalkboard blue. Printed as a digital wrap. Blue-black + white color scheme is bold yet showcases and highlights the vibrantly colored juice inside.

Choosing the right colors for their vending machine. Classic chalkboard black with as much blackberry tone as I can get away with.

Letterpress printed business cards. Printed in-house on the hand-fed and manually powered C&P Platen Press. Designed digitally while obeying classic letterpress rules and styles. Ink mix is pantone matched. Card finishing includes color matched edge painting. Here you can see the bold effect of a brick of cards along with the subtle stripe of individual cards. Printed on 100% cotton, 110# heavyweight paper.

Design

Outside cover of trifold pamphlet, digitally printed with matte finish. Branding continues with a memorable graphic element on each outside surface of the sales pamphlet. Inside is informational, laid out with a similar design.

Concept + Design + Silkscreen + Letterpress

This project grew from a custom bottle label to a full design of Broadway Cafe's 20th Anniversary. Branding features custom illustration by Danni Parelman. My design and layout is influenced by Bulleit Bourbon labels. From their basic label shape and layout I created a new logo, border, badge. Danni's illustrated "20" became the year's identity along with increased implementation of the new BC logo.

Hand printed shirts feature custom ink-marbling on the back. Each shirt has a unique color layer representing the coffee beans as varying tones of yellow brown and red.

Design + Print

Broadway Cafe came to me with these wavy-glassed antique bottles in tow. The label design reflects the age of the bottle through typeface and letterpress ornamentation. A custom letterpress hang-tag is laced around each bottle for the brewer to hand write details about each batch.

Each label was letterpress printed and numbered. Edition of 200 bottles.

Concept + Design + Printing + Binding

Visual Communicator is an art book featuring the original images of Ashley Hohman and Olivia Gibb. This book was created as a beautiful vehicle to spread the work of these two artists (and more to come). Size is 7.25" x 7.25", purposely designed to sit on a record shelf among 7" EPs. VC comes packaged in a resealable mylar record sleeve.

Colors reflect those often used in Ashley and Olivia's work. Cover designs feature imagery by the two artists set within a consistent magazine-style graphic layout. Visual Communicator logo designed as a magazine header.

Inside pages are risograph printed with a page by page transition from black ink to purple ink. Book is arranged in a "split-reverses" format. The book features a front cover on both sides. Each cover is followed by 10 pages of the featured artist's work. At the center is a foldout mini poster. At this point the book is to be flipped over and began again from the opposite cover, which features the opposite artists work and so on.
